About

A clear answer to a confusing rule

We publish a state-by-state procedural decoder for SNAP work-requirements so adults navigating eligibility can find the rule that applies to them. After OBBBA (July 2025) changed who is subject and which areas hold waivers, the answer to a simple question — do I have to work to get SNAP here?— became genuinely hard to find. The information is public, but it’s spread across a federal waiver list and fifty different state agencies.

ABAWDMap gathers the waiver status, who is subject, what counts as work, and where to go into one calm place — and cites each claim to USDA FNS or the state SNAP agency. We don’t sell anything, take a side, or push a service. We point you to the official agency and step out of the way.

What this is — and isn’t

This is informational. It summarizes administrative rules and waiver status; it is not legal or benefits advice for your specific situation, and it is not advocacy. Eligibility depends on individual circumstances and rules change, so we ask you to confirm with your state SNAP agency before relying on anything, and we record when we last checked each item on the Sources page.
